Little Ghouls & Maybe a Witch or Two

I just love halloween, and there are some great stamps out there. I picked up some from starvingartistamps and I think they came out so cute. Here are three that I've done, I've got one more witch in the works.

Aren't they cute! These are my three little ghouls. They are the spitting image of my boys. No seriously they are from the doodlefactory halloween set. I had fun with this card. It was a lot of masking. I colored with prisma pencils and blended with gamsol and brayered the background. I seem to be in a coloring with pencils mood, cause here are 2 more that I colored with my prisma pencils.

On this one I used a sketch from the mojo monday archieve, week #26. There are so many great sketches on this blog to try out. I made mine a square card 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I am so happy with how this card turned out. The little orange monster was stamped on very vanilla and layered on the new in color kiwis kiss and basic black. I know the green looks more like sage shadow but trust me it's kiwi kiss. For the little square monsters, I punch out 3 squares of very vanilla, then stamped the heads of the little monsters. They are layered on basic black and then layered on ghostly greeting designer paper. Everything is layered on the new in color tangerine tango. Of course everything was colored with my prisma pencils. I also did a little piercing along the top and bottom of the main image. Cute Cute Cute if I say so myself. This is off to my mother-in-law and represents all of her boys.

Here is my witch, she is from the witch trio from Starvingartistamps. The tree is from Holly Berry House. Sorry about the picture, could not get a good shot, the shadowing does not stand out as much as it does in this picture.
I saw a very similar card on splitcoast and thought it was such a great idea I cased it. Here is the card I cased. I made this card for my aunt for her birthday. I stamped the witch and tree on going grey cs and colored with my primsa/gamsol. They are layered on basic black and then on tangerine tango. The saying also from the witch trio is also stamped on basic gray and layered on basic black. They are attached to the card on dimensionals. I then did some piercing on the corner. Very quick very easy. I hope you enjoyed these, because I enjoyed making them and sharing them with you.

G Man's Birthday

Hello all, I hope your having a nice weekend. I got in a little stamping this morning, and am real happy with how it turned out. I needed to make a birthday card for my middle son Garrett. With his birthday so close to Halloween I thought it only appropiate to make it a Halloween theme card.
Here it is, Garrett told me it was A GREAT CARD!! I hope you think so too.

I used another retired set" Best Fiends" and " Booglie Eyes" for the saying. I stamped Frankie on sahara sand and colored him with my pencils and gamsol. He's layered on only orange and basic gray. I used my photo corners punch on kiwi kiss and attached it with two vintage brads. This was all layered on ghostly greetings designer paper, layered on more kiwi kiss. My base card is naturals white. I stamped the saying and added day to the boo on kiwi kiss and layered in on only orange; this is attached to the dp with dimensionals. I then stamped a bat on a scrap piece of sahara sand and attached with dimensionals. The last thing was the initial brad to finish the card off.

Well I'm off to stamp some more. I got a few sympathy cards to make.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Little Gnome and Some Bon Bons

Well I got a little stamping in over the weekend. I made a few cards. First I made a thank you card for a dear friend and customer. She was my 1st online order. She lives in the small town of Strawberry, so I broke out my knobby gnomes set. I know it's a retired set, but I couldn't give it up. I think these gnomes are so cute.

I need to work on my photos. This is not a very good picture. It doesn't do my little gnome justice.

I used sahara sand, always artichoke and basic black. I colored my little gnome with my Prismacolor™ Pencils and gamsol. I was real pleasedwith the way it turned out. I hope she likes it.

The next card I made was for my aunt. She had major surgey and will be laid up for a few months. I teased her that we were going to find her watching t.v. and eating bon bons.

This was my attempt at bon bons. I know it's a chocolate
but what the hey. This is another retired set that I can't let go.
I tried out the scallop edge medallion tutorial on splitcoaststamper. It was so easy and makes for a great element on the card. I put crystal effects on the brown part of the candy to give it a glossy look. I used my new swiss dot embossing folder. I have waited for ever to get this folder. For months I would check Michaels and Jo-Anns; nothing and if they did have folders they were old ones, Jo-Anns would have very few new folders. But not the one I wanted. So one day I was reading a post on splitcoaststampers about a company that give 40% coupons to their VIP customers. Well to make a long story short I finally order it from Cut@home along with my rectangle nestabilities.
Back to my card, I used chocolate chip, of course what else would I have used; a little pretty in pink and a retired dp.

Now on the inside I made spiral pop-ups. Two techniques on one card. I was on a roll, spiral that is.

I know, I know, bad joke. Well here is the inside.

Well that's all I have for right now. I've got a couple of Halloween cards I made. I'll share those with you in my next post.

Thanks for stopping by.

Playing With Water

This has been a busy couple of weeks. Last weekend my oldest son was in the OC Explorer Games. As you can see there are alot of kids. This was an ALL day event. We were there from 7 am to 7pm. Didn't get much stamping done. These were teams of 4 & 5 kids. I believe there was a total of 20 teams.

Here is a picture of my son waiting for his teams turn for the tug of war game. I won't bore you with alot of pictures.

Here is the last one, I promise. This is his team in the bucket brigade.

They didn't win, but they sure did have fun. Unfortunately his team of 5 was disqualified, they had two people leave before the games where over. The 3 left were unable to participate in the last event. They are already strategizing for next year.

Now this weekend I did get some stamping in. I will share this with you a little later.

Thanks for stopping by.

Belated Birthday

Hello all,
Today I'm sharing cards made by my son & I. We made these for my aunt for her birthday, set them aside to mail.
Well I totally last track of the days, needless to say they went out after her birthday. I felt so bad.
Here is the card my son made. He needed an idea for the set he chose, so I had him look through the gallery at splitcoaststampers and he chose a card made by Amy Rohl; here is the link to her card . I think he did a wonderful job.
He likes to make cards for his friends and family.

Now for my card, I've had no stamping mojo, none, zip, nada. It's been very frustrating. So I too went to splitcoaststampers for ideas. I found a card I liked and made a copy of it, but I failed to write down the where's and who's. So if this is your card or you know who made it, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. Because my card is an exact case. So who ever you are thank you.

I'm hoping to get some stamping done this weekend. Big emphasize on hoping. I have an Eagle Scout Court of Honor to attend today and a Water Fun Day for Cub Scouts on Sunday. Being in scouts is all most like having a second job.

Well I hope you all have a great weekend.

Until later, happy stamping.

A Good Friend

Well here it is my 1st official post, with a picture and everything. I was all set to share a few cards my son and I made for my aunts birthday. And as the story also goes, I got busy. Well in the mean time my very good friend sent me a birthday card and present of ribbons and a little magnetic box that she covered. Her card is so much pretty, the picture doesn't do it justice. To my friend Penny, thank you very much.

I have one more I want to share with you. I made this for my nephew for his birthday. He loves his pirates and since this is talk let a pirate week. This card, well it's not exactly a card. It a diorama that I found on splitcoaststampers; this was so much fun to make.

I used the new baja breeze, chocolate chip, and very vanilla cardstock. I colored it with my reinkers and my aquapainter. I think he turned at real cute, if I say so myself.

Well thanks for looking and I hope you come back.

Hello Friends

Well like everyone else, I have decided to join the league of bloggers.
I hope you will enjoy my ramblings of life at the fish pond, I call home.

A little about myself, I am a Stampin'Up! demonstrator who is her best customer. I just received my 5 year pin. I can't believe it's been that long. Well this is one of the reasons I have decided to start a blog. I need something to get me to stamp more. My kids and husband keep me very busy, with 2 of my boys in scouts and one in the fire explorer program and a fireman for a hubby, my days are busy. Oh and I work full time.

I have a hard time finding time to stamp or little else for that matter.

So here is to more stamping and posting the items here. Oh, and the intermittent stories of my family.
