Happy New Year!

Hello, I'm back and Happy New Year.

I hope everyone had a great Holiday.

What a hectic month December was! Between work and the kids activities, I didn't get any Christmas cards out this year. At work, I work for a general contractor, we got 2 new projects, which by the way was a life saver, or I would probably be out of work like many people. Well anyways, these 2 new project consist of 4 elementary schools. We will be adding 2 story portable buildings to each of the schools. Now mind you I work for a small contractor and there are just 2 of us in the office, we have put in alot of long hours trying to set these jobs started. So not a lot of time for Christmas shopping or baking. My hubbies schedule was such that he was able to get the shopping and wrapping done for me. I just love him to pieces. Thankfully I was unable to bake because I still managed to gain weight, I know it would have been more if I had baked.

My weekends were busy with Garrett and scouts. The first saturday of December we went and picked mistletoe. The boys use this as one of their fund raisers.

Here is Garrett surrounded by mistletoe. I didn't get alot of pictures because I was also packing the mistletoe in the trashbags. I think we had something like 20 large trashbags filled with mistletoe. From there we went to another scouts house to pack the mistletoe. I forgot to mention Garrett & I started at 7am. The scouts continued to pack until 5 pm and then again on Sun from noon to 3pm. Between Garrett & I we put in 16 hours on Saturday. The next Saturday we were scheduled to sell mistletoe and Albertsons from 9am to noon.
We had just 2 boys at our location, the boys managed to sell $100 worth; thankfully because the mistletoe just wasn't lasting. Most of it was broken. I'm curious how much the troop made and how much goes towards Garretts account to be used toward summer camp.

I did get a few gift cards made and I made knitted 3 scarfs for gifts. Of course I didn't start until the 22nd and made my gift cards on Christmas day. Well here are the gift cards I made.

This one I made for my brother, I thought it turned out real cute. I used Dawn's envelope gift card holder, she has some great tutorials.

On my gift card holder I used a SU medium square envelope. I also used SU's dp to cover the outside of my envelope, I also covered the inside but forgot to take a picture .
The frame is from my square nestibilities.
These are great, I use them with my SU Big Shot.

These other two gift card holders I adapted from cards I had made before. I was running out of time to get them done. Since my creative juices are still not flowing there were the next best thing. I think they turned out cute. I just added a pocket to the inside of the cards.
The dp is from SU, it was from 2007's winter mini. I just love these colors. I'm so glad I bought extra. On my Frosty gift card holder you can see the gift card pecking out from the top.

Here are the scarfs I made my sister-in-laws for Christmas. I made them in 2 nights. These make up real quick. I also made my mom one but forgot to take a picture.

Since then I've made 3 more. I'll show you in my next post.

I did manage to make a card and money holder yesterday for my nephew's 16th birthday. I am now in the process of making my cousin a birthday card.

This year I hope to get a little more stamping in and do the challenges on splitcoaststampers and the various blogs I have come across.

Thanks for lasting this long.

Bye until the next time.

I work for a small contractor too and the amount of work has gone down considerably in the past two years. Right now I'm the only office person. But fortunately we're still afloat and probably will be for a while. That's great that your boss is going to build schools. That should keep you busy for a while.

Your holiday cards and scarves are terrific.

Great - two new projects! I was beginning to wonder what you guys were going to do if nothing came along. Hopefully you can get into a regular routine (if that's possible!)and get creative. We got snow for Christmas!
