It's been awhile, I know, what can I say? Nothing, I have no excuse. Life just gets in the way. Well I've changed my banner, not to sure if it goes with the background, but I liked it and that is all that matters right now.

I have a couple of pages to share, I made these using My Digitial Studio from Stampin' Up!. This is a new product available now. It's real easy to use. These pages are did where pretty basic. I'm not a very good scrapper but I'm trying. Without further ado, here they are.

The first one is a 12 x12, as you can see it from July 4th 2006. I'm just a little behind in my pictures.

This next one is an 8 x 8 page. Time just speeds right on by when your not looking.
When I agreed to become more involved with scouting for my two boys I never knew it was going to take over my life. I don't mind so much, but with my hubbies schedule it sometimes makes housework impossible. With that I mean, you know laundry, maybe shopping for food, you know little things. And of course no time for stamping. I did manage to sneak in 2 cards this last week. One was a graduation card for #2 son, who graduated from 6th grade and the other was for my hubby for fathers day. I haven't taken pictures to share yet. They were those "OH! I need a card and I have to leave in 30 minutes" cards. I'm sure if I had managed my time a little better I would have been a little happier with the outcome. But hey the receipents loved them and I suppose that's all that matters.

Well this was a short little post to let you know I'm still here, and to breakup my work day.
Until later.

Life's Simple Pleasures

I've been playing with digital scrapbooking lately. We spent the day visiting various places in the city.

We started at the hospital that Garrett was born at, then made our way to City Hall. We also visited Boomers a miniature golf course with go carts, batting cages, bumper boats, etc.

Emmett needed to be in the pictures with Garrett. They look so cute together, if only they stayed that way.

The last place we visited was Miles Square Park, the park has a couple of big lakes and concrete canals connecting the lakes together. The boys had to jump across the canals because they were there.

There are sidewalks that wind up and down and all around the lake. We rented a pedal bike for a couple of hours. We were a sight the four of us pedaling all over the place. The boys had a great time riding that pedal bike, they thought is was the greatest thing. My oldest son turned 16 on last Thursday, my middle son went camping this weekend for scouts and my youngest son had his Blue and Gold Banquet for cub scouts. Getting ready for all this has kept me very busy. Between my oldest and his school baseball, and my other two in scouts there hasn't been much time for me to stamp. But I do have a few things to share. 1st is the card I made for my oldest son's birthday. I thought it turned out really cool and my son's response when he opened it confirmed it, by his "COOOL".

I made this card with almost everything retired from Stampin'Up!. The sets I used are Catchin Air, So Cool, Collage Alphabet Numbers and In the Stars. The card was made with pacific point, going gray and some very old designer paper, I think it was one of our first and some silver star brads from a hodgepod set. I stamped directly on the designer paper in pacific point ink. I stamped the snowboarder 1st, then masked it and stamped the dude on top of it.

He just learned to snowboard this winter and he is hooked. His dad and a couple of guys from hubbies work took him snowboarding for his birthday. Since they went on a Thursday there were no crowds which was a good thing as there was a constant snowball fight on the lifts.

That same evening Wyatt received an award from school for outstanding academic achievement. This is about one of the only times he let us take his picture. His biology teacher nominated him for this award. He is the only student to have an A+ in the class.

Now for the other two who have kept me just as busy. Garrett had a camp out this weekend for boy scouts and he was one of the many cooks for this outing. Since he was a cook he needed to do the shopping also. Well you know who had to take him, that's right me. This was an experience, to say the least, now mind you every Monday night Wyatt has the fire explorer program he goes to, he needs to be there by 5:30 pm, my youngest son is a cub scout where I am the den leader, we need to be at our meeting by 6:30 pm. and Garrett has scouts on Wednesday nights were he needs to be there by 7:00pm., now on Tuesday nights is my weight watchers meeting at 6:00pm which gets bumped if I'm needed someway else. As you can see I don't have much free time during the week and much less during the weekends as there is always something scout related.

Now back to this shopping, we were to meet at the store at 7:00pm this last Thursday, we didn't get out of the store until 9:00pm, from there they had to go pack the food in the bins they use for their outings. We got home at 10:00pm. Friday we meet at 6:30pm to leave for the outing. I was a driver so I got home about 9:30pm, luckily it was close by. Now on Saturday was my younger son's Blue and Gold Banquet, our pack as been in existence for 50 years so it was a big deal. We were there from 3:30 pm, to help set up until 9:00 pm when it ended. Here are a few pictures from our Blue and Gold.

Thank you for lasting this long. And since you did I have another item for your viewing pleasure.
I made these for our monthly Bunco meeting.

These were so easy to make, spiltcoaststampers has so many great tutorials.

Now I'm off to finish the laundry, vacuum and then find time to do a little of the work I brought home from work. Next week should be a little lighter I will be down one son. My middle son will be off to science camp for a week. That should free up one night to Stamp, I Hope I Hope.

Until then,
Thanks for stopping by.

New Stuff

Woohoo!! I finally got my photoshop software and am able to upload some of my new cards. Since has been awhile since I've stamped I was getting impatient about these new cards I stamped. I thought they turned out pretty good.

So here is what I did. The first card I made for my hubby, he has been working a lot of overtime, when I made this card he was going to be gone for 3 days. Isn't it cute, my inspiration came from Beate, she makes such great cards. The stamp set is Owl Together Now, the saying I made from my Karen Foster Snap Stamps. The card size is a 4.25 inch square. I used some baja breeze textured card stock I had on hand and shara sand, and the new riding hood red

He's going to be gone for another 3 days starting Sunday so I better get going on another card.

I also made a thank you card for a very dear friend, she was nice enough to place an order on line.
I hope she likes it, I made it at the same time as my owl card so the layout is very similar. I used the always set and a new hostess set, a little something for the saying. Both cards used SU double sided paper, but I don't know which ones I used. I have a bad habit of hoarding it and then don't remember its name, most likely they are both retired. I had a blue theme going that day, but all in all I was very happy with how they both turned out.

Until later, thanks for stopping by.

Alive and Well

Boy time flies. I can't believe how long it's been since I posted. It's been almost as long since I made any cards. I did manage to make a valentines card for my hubby. But I didn't take a picture of it. Then my computer decided I didn't need a keyboard or mouse; $300 and a week and a half later I got it back. Thankfully I didn't lose any of my pictures, but I did manage to lose my emails and thats because I overrode them when I re-installed my software. All I can say is doah!

Well these last couple of weekends my oldest son has keep me busy. He made the baseball team at school and these last two saturdays have been scrimmages with school outside of their league. I have a couple of pictures to share, but unfortunately I haven't re-installed by photo software yet.

So check back later, when I will have pictures and some new projects I completed.

Until later.

Ok, it's Saturday and I don't feel like doing anything I need to do, so I'm posting to my blog.

I do have a few items I have not shared yet. So today is the day.

Here are two sympathy cards I made a few months back. I was real pleased with how they turned out.

For the top card I used:
Stamps: SU Embrace Life
Ink: Always Artichoke, Barely Banana Cameo Coral & Rudy Red
Cardstock: Barely Banana, Always Artichoke, Cameo Coral, WW, Watercolor paper
Accessories: nestibilities, cuttlebug diamond plate, SU small & large oval punch, aqua painter, ribbon from Michaels

Bottom card:
Stamps: SU Fresh Cuts
Ink: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango
Cardstock: Kiwi Kiss, Tangerine Tango, Very Vanilla
Accessories: glitter, paper piercing tool, ribbon from Michaels

Unfortunately I need to make a few more and these cards are never easy to do.

So on a cheerier note here is another one I've done with a little something extra.

Here is a card I made for my nephews birthday. Mr. Fluffles makes a wish. This card took some time to grow on me. I wasn't to happy with it at first, but it's growing on me. But how can you not like fluffles?

Supplies: Fluffles birthday wish, Frosty Day DP, Kiwi Kiss CS, Bashful Blue CS, nestibilites, Alphine Ribbon SU

Inside the card a placed a wallet. The wallet turned out pretty cool, if I say so myself.

I used a technique from technique junkies called snakeskin. I think my wallet looks like leather.

For the wallet I used Basic Black CS, Frosty Day DP, Glassy Glaze Enamel and my bone folder.
I also used my paper piercing tool around the edges to make it look stitched.

So until latter, happy stamping.

Crazy Life

Man my days are crazy right now. Between work and the kids activities, I didn't get any Christmas cards out this year. At work, I work for a general contractor, we got 2 new projects, which by the way was a life saver, or I would probably be out of work like many people. Well anyways, these 2 new project consist of 4 elementary schools. We will be adding 2 story portable buildings to each of the schools. Now mind you I work for a small contractor and there are just 2 of us in the office, we have put in alot of long hours trying to set these jobs started. So not a lot of time for Christmas shopping or baking. My hubbies schedule was such that he was able to get the shopping and wrapping done for me. I just love him to pieces. Thankfully I was unable to bake because I still managed to gain weight, I know it would have been more if I had baked.

My weekends were busy with Garrett and scouts. The first saturday of December we went and picked mistletoe. The boys use this as one of their fund raisers.

Here is Garrett surrounded by mistletoe. I didn't get alot of pictures because I was also packing the mistletoe in the trashbags. I think we had something like 20 large trashbags filled with mistletoe. From there we went to another scouts house to pack the mistletoe. I forgot to mention Garrett & I started at 7am. The scouts continued to pack until 5 pm and then again on Sun from noon to 3pm. Between Garrett & I we put in 16 hours on Saturday. The next Saturday we were scheduled to sell mistletoe and Albertsons from 9am to noon.
We had just 2 boys at our location, the boys managed to sell $100 worth; thankfully because the mistletoe just wasn't lasting. Most of it was broken. I'm curious how much the troop made and how much goes towards Garretts account to be used toward summer camp.

I did get a few gift cards made and I made knitted 3 scarfs for gifts. Of course I didn't start until the 22nd and made my gift cards on Christmas day. Well here are the gift cards I made.

This one I made for my brother, I thought it turned out real cute. I used Dawn's envelope gift card holder, she has some great tutorials.

On my gift card holder I used a SU medium square envelope. I also used SU's dp to cover the outside of my envelope, I also covered the inside but forgot to take a picture .
The frame is from my square nestibilities.
These are great, I use them with my SU Big Shot.

These other two gift card holders I adapted from cards I had made before. I was running out of time to get them done. Since my creative juices are still not flowing there were the next best thing. I think they turned out cute. I just added a pocket to the inside of the cards.
The dp is from SU, it was from 2007's winter mini. I just love these colors. I'm so glad I bought extra. On my Frosty gift card holder you can see the gift card pecking out from the top.

Here are the scarfs I made my sister-in-laws for Christmas. I made them in 2 nights. These make up real quick. I also made my mom one but forgot to take a picture.

Since then I've made 3 more. I'll show you in my next post.

I did manage to make a card and money holder yesterday for my nephew's 16th birthday. I am now in the process of making my cousin a birthday card.

This year I hope to get a little more stamping in and do the challenges on splitcoaststampers and the various blogs I have come across.

Thanks for lasting this long.

Bye until the next time.

BIG NEWS!!!!!!

The RETIRED LIST is out and Stampin' UP! has a FREE Shipping Promotion going on now thru December 23rd. I picked up some from starvingartistamps and I think they came out so cute. Here are three that I've done, I've got one more witch in the works.

Aren't they cute! These are my three little ghouls. They are the spitting image of my boys. No seriously they are from the doodlefactory halloween set. I had fun with this card. It was a lot of masking. I colored with prisma pencils and blended with gamsol and brayered the background. I seem to be in a coloring with pencils mood, cause here are 2 more that I colored with my prisma pencils.

On this one I used a sketch from the mojo monday archieve, week #26. There are so many great sketches on this blog to try out. I made mine a square card 5 1/4 x 5 1/4. I am so happy with how this card turned out. The little orange monster was stamped on very vanilla and layered on the new in color kiwis kiss and basic black. I know the green looks more like sage shadow but trust me it's kiwi kiss. For the little square monsters, I punch out 3 squares of very vanilla, then stamped the heads of the little monsters. They are layered on basic black and then layered on ghostly greeting designer paper. Everything is layered on the new in color tangerine tango. Of course everything was colored with my prisma pencils. I also did a little piercing along the top and bottom of the main image. Cute Cute Cute if I say so myself. This is off to my mother-in-law and represents all of her boys.

Here is my witch, she is from the witch trio from Starvingartistamps. The tree is from Holly Berry House. Sorry about the picture, could not get a good shot, the shadowing does not stand out as much as it does in this picture.
I saw a very similar card on splitcoast and thought it was such a great idea I cased it. Here is the card I cased. I made this card for my aunt for her birthday. I stamped the witch and tree on going grey cs and colored with my primsa/gamsol. They are layered on basic black and then on tangerine tango. The saying also from the witch trio is also stamped on basic gray and layered on basic black. They are attached to the card on dimensionals. I then did some piercing on the corner. Very quick very easy. I hope you enjoyed these, because I enjoyed making them and sharing them with you.

Thanks for stopping by.

G Man's Birthday

Hello all, I hope your having a nice weekend. I got in a little stamping this morning, and am real happy with how it turned out. I needed to make a birthday card for my middle son Garrett. With his birthday so close to Halloween I thought it only appropiate to make it a Halloween theme card.
Here it is, Garrett told me it was A GREAT CARD!! I hope you think so too.

I used another retired set" Best Fiends" and " Booglie Eyes" for the saying. I stamped Frankie on sahara sand and colored him with my pencils and gamsol. He's layered on only orange and basic gray. I used my photo corners punch on kiwi kiss and attached it with two vintage brads. This was all layered on ghostly greetings designer paper, layered on more kiwi kiss. My base card is naturals white. I stamped the saying and added day to the boo on kiwi kiss and layered in on only orange; this is attached to the dp with dimensionals. I then stamped a bat on a scrap piece of sahara sand and attached with dimensionals. The last thing was the initial brad to finish the card off.

Well I'm off to stamp some more. I got a few sympathy cards to make.

Thanks for stopping by.

A Little Gnome and Some Bon Bons

Well I got a little stamping in over the weekend. I made a few cards. First I made a thank you card for a dear friend and customer. She was my 1st online order. She lives in the small town of Strawberry, so I broke out my knobby gnomes set. I know it's a retired set, but I couldn't give it up. I think these gnomes are so cute.

I need to work on my photos. This is not a very good picture. It doesn't do my little gnome justice.

I used sahara sand, always artichoke and basic black. I colored my little gnome with my Prismacolor™ Pencils and gamsol. I was real pleasedwith the way it turned out. I hope she likes it.

The next card I made was for my aunt. She had major surgey and will be laid up for a few months. I teased her that we were going to find her watching t.v. and eating bon bons.

This was my attempt at bon bons. I know it's a chocolate
but what the hey. This is another retired set that I can't let go.
I tried out the scallop edge medallion tutorial on splitcoaststamper. It was so easy and makes for a great element on the card. I put crystal effects on the brown part of the candy to give it a glossy look. I used my new swiss dot embossing folder. I have waited for ever to get this folder. For months I would check Michaels and Jo-Anns; nothing and if they did have folders they were old ones, Jo-Anns would have very few new folders. But not the one I wanted. So one day I was reading a post on splitcoaststampers about a company that give 40% coupons to their VIP customers. Well to make a long story short I finally order it from Cut@home along with my rectangle nestabilities.
Back to my card, I used chocolate chip, of course what else would I have used; a little pretty in pink and a retired dp.

Now on the inside I made spiral pop-ups. Two techniques on one card. I was on a roll, spiral that is.

I know, I know, bad joke. Well here is the inside.

Well that's all I have for right now. I've got a couple of Halloween cards I made. Last weekend my oldest son was in the OC Explorer Games. As you can see there are alot of kids. This was an ALL day event. We were there from 7 am to 7pm. Didn't get much stamping done. These were teams of 4 & 5 kids. I believe there was a total of 20 teams.

Here is a picture of my son waiting for his teams turn for the tug of war game. We made these for my aunt for her birthday, set them aside to mail.
Well I totally last track of the days, needless to say they went out after her birthday. I felt so bad.
Here is the card my son made. He needed an idea for the set he chose, so I had him look through the gallery at splitcoaststampers and he chose a card made by Amy Rohl; here is the link to her card . I think he did a wonderful job.
He likes to make cards for his friends and family.

Now for my card, I've had no stamping mojo, none, zip, nada. It's been very frustrating. So I too went to splitcoaststampers for ideas. I found a card I liked and made a copy of it, but I failed to write down the where's and who's. So if this is your card or you know who made it, please let me know so I can give credit where credit is due. Because my card is an exact case. So who ever you are thank you.

I'm hoping to get some stamping done this weekend. Big emphasize on hoping. I have an Eagle Scout Court of Honor to attend today and a Water Fun Day for Cub Scouts on Sunday. Being in scouts is all most like having a second job.

Well I hope you all have a great weekend.

Until later, happy stamping.

A Good Friend

Well here it is my 1st official post, with a picture and everything. I was all set to share a few cards my son and I made for my aunts birthday. And as the story also goes, I got busy. Well in the mean time my very good friend sent me a birthday card and present of ribbons and a little magnetic box that she covered. Her card is so much pretty, the picture doesn't do it justice. To my friend Penny, thank you very much.

I have one more I want to share with you. I made this for my nephew for his birthday. He loves his pirates and since this is talk let a pirate week. This card, well it's not exactly a card. It a diorama that I found on splitcoaststampers; this was so much fun to make.

I used the new baja breeze, chocolate chip, and very vanilla cardstock. I colored it with my reinkers and my aquapainter. I think he turned at real cute, if I say so myself.

Well thanks for looking and I hope you come back.

Hello Friends

Well like everyone else, I have decided to join the league of bloggers.
I hope you will enjoy my ramblings of life at the fish pond, I call home.

A little about myself, I am a Stampin'Up! demonstrator who is her best customer. I just received my 5 year pin. I can't believe it's been that long. Well this is one of the reasons I have decided to start a blog. I need something to get me to stamp more. My kids and husband keep me very busy, with 2 of my boys in scouts and one in the fire explorer program and a fireman for a hubby, my days are busy. Oh and I work full time.

I have a hard time finding time to stamp or little else for that matter.

So here is to more stamping and posting the items here. Oh, and the intermittent stories of my family.
